Ralphie Elfus or "Lefty" for short finally made it to our house last night. He said that with the economy in the tank Santa couldn't afford a direct flight for him from the North Pole. He told us that he really had a time making it to southern Louisiana this year. Something to do with his layover in Detroit I believe? Anyway.... we asked him how he ended up with the nickname Lefty? He said that as we all know that behind every man is a strong woman. Mrs. Clause is Santa's right hand "man" so that puts Santa's favorite Elf to the left! (hence the name Lefty) So the story begins....
We were really excited to introduce the boys to Lefty our Elf on the shelf. We pulled out the book and Kenton read it to them. We had their attention for a minute or two. They are both a little young to fully understand Lefty's purpose, but like it or not Lefty has a job to do! He watches over the boys and reports back to Santa daily whether they have been good or bad.
