Roman Holiday

Yesterday was Roman's turn for his one on one time with Momma and MiMi.
(oh and Cohen too)
I thought it would be fun to take him back to the LCM
and let him pick what he wanted to do,
and let him do his chosen activity for as long as his little heart desired.

I whispered to him in the morning that we had a special surprise for him.
I told him that he would be able to cook in the fun kitchen again.
As soon as the words escaped my lips he was running through the house
squealing about "cookin' in da kitchen!"
Guess he didn't get the memo that loose lips sink ships!!

As we were heading downtown to spend the day with him he asked about BeBe. (Griff)
Gotta  love his heart and that he desires to include his brother in his fun times.

*Warning obscene amount of pics to follow.  Now carry on.*

Baby Bear and MiMi hand in hand on the way to his "Roman holiday."

Once inside we didn't waste any time and headed straight to the cafe
where Roman put on his chef jacket and went to work.

While working on the line he made a sandwich for MiMi...

...and served it with a smile.

He then went back to work scrubbing pots in the sink.

He was giving this little boy the "stank eye" for cooking in his kitchen.
Baby Bear is a trip.

Now the serious cooking is about to begin.
Notice the intensity on his face as he stirs up his pot.

"Bam" that is how it is done!

The "stank eye" was then redirected to me...

"Get out of my kitchen Mommy" with the finger point.
Oh no he didn't!!!

I guess he needed a little more room to work his magic.

Here he is cooking up a storm.
What's on the menu?
Why gumbo of course!

The look is just too much!

Serving his gumbo up to MiMi.
His smile says it all~
he is so proud of his food.

After serving lunch and dinner he then headed over to Winn Dixie
to make some groceries.

Oh how I love this boy.

Time to check out.

I love this child's mind.
He didn't just throw "stuff" into his basket.
He thought out a meal of his favorite things.
Boiled crabs with corn and french bread,
red beans,
pancakes,
and ice cream for dessert.
These are all of his favorite things!
Pretty impressive for a 2 year old.

Our sleeping prince was just along for the ride.
Zzzzzzzzzz.......

What's for dinner in the cajun cottage?
Duh... a pot of crabs of course!

Peek-A-Boo.
I love you!

Okay, I'm getting a little crabby!

We had such a fun day with Baby Bear on his "Roman holiday!"
He is  such a joy to hang out with.
He is game for just about anything and his smile and disposition is so delightful.
Love this boy more than words can say...

Can't wait to see what Griff picks for his one-on-one special day!

Haircut, but not a "Haircut."

Both of the boys REALLY needed a trim.
I called to make an appointment.

The call went like this.

Ms. Happy Scissors: "Hello.  Happy Scissors."
Me: " I am calling to make an appointment for a haircut,
you know the kind that doesn't really look like a haircut?"
Ms. Happy Scissors: "Sure, how about 6'oclock?"

The boys have their birthday party this weekend and professional pictures next weekend.
Who in their right mind attempts a cut this late in the game????
Me...

The appointment was really for G, but Ro-ski was in dire need.
Poor baby could no longer see out of his left eye due to his scraggly long locks!

I was in NO WAY prepared to lose my baby today to a haircut
so we did the next best thing.
Allowed the nice lady to oh so delicately snip a hair or two
ONLY in the bang area.

I will mentally forget that this ever happened
and not count it as his first haircut,
but in the meantime my baby can see again!

Next up,
Big Bro G!

A haircut AND visit to the dentist in the same day.
Mommy Dearest strikes again!
Bwahahaha.....

Thanks to Ms. Happy Scissors
for cutting, but not really cutting
2 boys hair!

Hey Lady... Get me out of here!

I am not one to push my children to the next stage ahead of time.
The world is fast enough,
I believe in letting them "BE" their age.
Until now...

Ro-Ro was D-O-N-E with his infant seat.
I can't say that I blame him.
The thought of riding in the car backwards makes me ill.

Here he is yesterday in his infant seat
climbing over the front.
I believe he stated his case.
Loud.And.Clear.

Here he is today
riding in the car facing the front,
for the first time.

It was adorable.
He was giggling as we drove down the street.
He was taking in the world from the backseat.
Such a cute little back seat driver.

Little does he know that he will be in the car seat facing the front for a very long time... ;)

Wrecking Crew x 2

This is the scene that I happened upon...

All of these months Roman has been taking notes
from big brother G~ the Master Messer-upper.
G looks pleased by the work of his apprentice.

Not to be out shined by baby bear
G joined in on the action.

"Wait.... I think I left one pan
all the way to the back."

Mission accomplished!
Entire pan drawer emptied
by this little guy.

Roman earned the title of
Vice President of the wrecking crew today.

Drivers Education

Big Poppa and MiMi gave the boys a Jeep for Christmas.  Today was the first day that they were able to take it out for a test drive.

After about 5 minutes of Daddy instructed drivers education they took took it out on the open road.  Needless to say we had many belly laughs.  We had both of them buckled in and said a quick prayer.  All I can say is Roman watch your neck and everyone else watch your toes...

Two boys cruising top down in the Jeep

It's okay to open your eyes Ro.

Riding off into the sunset.

How can you not smile?

Big brother feels the need for speed.  VVVRRROOOMMMMM.......

It won't be long before little brother takes over the wheel.
He is taking close notes of everything!!

Enough practice~ we gave the boys a couple of bucks and said not to stay out too late.

Newest addition to our fleet...

Bond of brothers

I was getting the boys dressed on Saturday morning when Griffin pulled out his tunnel. Next thing you know something beautiful happened before my very eyes. For the first time my boys REALLY played together. I had so much fun watching them entertain each other! This Momma could not get enough of the deep down belly laughs ...

Knock knock...

Dear Roman's soon to be front tooth,
Enough already with the dramatics. We have been expecting you for over a week. I understand the need to make a grand entrance, but please give my baby a break. Don't make me call the Tooth Fairy on your tardy arrival...

Sincerely,
Roman's Momma

Got Milk?

I was sick the other day. I had the stomach bug and just felt rotten. As luck would have it my "stand ins" were over. MiMi and Big Poppa agreed to fill in so I was able to recuperate and try to keep my yucky germs quarantined to myself!

This was a great plan in theory, but Roman must not have gotten the memo. They tried to keep him away, but he just wouldn't take the hint. He was like a giggling kamikaze sounding off all the way through the house on a mission to find his Momma. As I was in and out of slumber I could hear his precious giggles as he was trying to make his way to the dairy buffet. At one point I looked down and he had pulled himself up and was trying to get into bed with me.
