Move over rover MiMi's in town...

Griffin is in heaven. He has been playing non-stop with his favorite playmate~ Mimi Kat. Griffin once again has an ear infection and was pretty down and out over the weekend. After our 2nd visit to the ENT and several ear infections later we have decided on tubes. Since he is "recovering" we decided to keep him out of day care this week. Mimi Kat and Big Popa have once again volunteered to hang out with the little guy. He loves hanging out with his grandparents. I can understand why because he melts them. When it comes to Mimi Kat and Big Pop~ what Griffin WANTS Griffin GETS! He pushes me to the side for his Mimi. They truly light up each others lives. Griffin is one lucky little fella to be so loved by sooooo many!

A day in the life.

Here is just a little example of about 1 hours with Griffin. All of this took place once we got home from the haircut.
Climb, dig, jog a few laps in the house, figure out how to get into cabinets with safety locks, pull out as much as possible from cabinets, sit in cabinet, pull out baskets from entertainment center, sit in space where baskets "belong" in entertainment center, harass Al Dog, learn to take off diaper, streak throughout the house, climb toy while streaking to see out the window, pee-pee on floor once diaper was off, find camera bag put around neck and drag around house, love Al Dog, dance to music on TV, eat mini cheeseburger for dinner, share mac-n-cheese with Al Dog (ps~ this is why Al deals with the torment) try REALLY hard to eat with a spoon, bath time was not so bad because we didn't have to wash hair, read story, sing a song, say a prayer, rock with Mommy, sweet dreams. The energizer bunny has NOTHING on Griffin....

"TRIM"

Yeah, I did it. I brought Griffin in for another haircut. I love his hair long and LOVE when the ends curl. If I had my way I would just let it grow, but there comes a time a little trim is unavoidable. It has been falling in his eyes and has really become a bother the past few weeks. Kenton is very particular when it comes to hair. He gave me instructions before taking the little guy in for the trim. I relayed the info to the hair lady and thought we had an understanding of the desired results. As soon as Griffin was in the chair hair just started to fly. Before I knew it he received a little more than a "trim." She cut the front and sides really short, but did keep a little length in the back. I guess you can say it is a variation of a baby mullet. Griffin was once again very good while receiving his hair cut. He wiggled a little more than he did the first time, but he was not bad. He followed direction pretty well and only made a sound when she pulled out the clippers. The woman is fast. The scalping lasted 12 minutes. We were actually back in the car in 12 minutes. That lady means business! After it is all said and done he looks adorable. I love when I am able to really see the expression in his eyes. Before we know it we will be bringing him in for another "trim."

PS~ I wasn't able to get many pics in the salon. I was handling Griffin alone while trying to get a few shots. The stylist scolded me and told me to put down the camera. Doesn't she know that I am a mother~ the ultimate multitasker!?!

Nothing sweeter than a....

I now realize that I need to add on to a previous post. There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping TIGER!!! I had a work meeting all day that was followed by dinner. I was not home to put Griffin to bed. I miss very few night. Kenton is better with the night time rituals, but I also enjoy participating in this family affair. This evening when I got home and checked on little Griffin he was sleeping in his LSU jersey. Kenton told me that Griffin wanted to wear his away uniform to cheer on his tigers. It was adorable. Griffin was sleeping in his purple rally jersey and white pants~ just like the big boys. He was sporting his uniform very proudly with his little hiney high in the air. I kissed his head, covered him, and tucked him in tight tight. I love that boy.... The tigers just won the game and have to win 1 more game to win another college world series. Thank goodness for Griffin and his rally uniform. Looks like we know what he will be wearing for the next game. Geaux Tigers!

Sunday School

Kenton and I once again had the pleasure to play with the kiddos yesterday in Journeytown. We help out with the nursery once a month. It is always so much fun to observe the kids while Pastor John sings fun songs with them and plays his guitar. Our time was action packed with praise and worship with Pastor John, free play, and a special project for Father's day. All of the kids inked their hand print on a baseball and presented it to their Daddy's at the end of the service. I'm sure by the end of the week all of the ink will be gone from their tiny hands. ;) We are proud to be a part of such a special group. I love the picture of Kenton helping out Natalie with her Capri Sun. She was thirsty so he held the juice pouch while she drank. I can ONLY IMAGINE how ga-ga he would be with a daughter. I already anticipate the countless hours, days, afternoons, and weekends that we will be logging in every ball park in the tri-state area with our little boy! Bring it on...

Father's Day 2009

First, I would like to thank my Daddy for the 33 years of unconditional love and support that he has offered to me over the years. I give him credit for molding me into the lady that I am today. Thank you for loving me... Next, I would like to thank Kenton for being the husband and father that he is to Griffin and myself. He has a very natural way when it comes to parenting. From the first moment that he held Griffin he acted like it was something that he had been doing all of his life. Griffin is Kenton's biggest fan and it is very easy to understand why. Kenton is the most patient and unassuming man that I have ever met. I always just knew that Kenton would be a great dad and it is so much fun to witness his love for Griffin ever single day. Thank you for loving me and our precious son... Griffin is very lucky to have these 2 strong men in his life to guide him ever step of the way.
The above pictures are of Griffin and Kenton on Father's day morning. Griffin came over to our bed once he woke up to snuggle with Mommy and Daddy for a bit before church. Kenton also opened his gifts from Griffin. Griffin gave him a cool t-shirt and a photo book of he and his Daddy. There is nothing like cuddling with my boys in the morning!

What are little boys made of????

What are little boys made of?

Frogs and snails, and puppy dog tails,

That's what little boys are made of.

What can I say~ Griffin is all boy! On Saturday we were working in the backyard. We are in the process of building an arbor, pouring, concrete, etc. Needless to say the yard is torn up! Griffin found a few trenches and had a ball in the dirt. I had to drag him out of the sand pit. He was beyond repair. Nothing less than a full bath would do. He had sand from head to toe including inside his diaper. What is it about boys and a mess? This will take some getting used to on my part, but he is always over eager to jump right in!
