Griffin~ Kindergarten

Griffin,

Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!  You had an amazing kindergarten year!  You have grown and matured so very much in a short time.  You love school and love to learn.  You are like a little sponge and are curious about the world around you!  Not only are you super smart, but you are also incredibly kind.  Both of these qualities will get you so far in life!

I pray that you continue to love school and have a heart for people.   Ms. Edwards was very complimentary of you the entire school year.  You were an excellent student and was always willing to help out your teacher and your class mates.  Every time I went to school everyone knew you by name.  Keep shining your light BRIGHT my boy!  That is exactly what God created you to do!

You won the reader award for your class.  Your reading skills are much further along than a kindergarten level.  You love to read and love for us to read to you.  At the end of the year you probably tested a 3 grade reading level.  Continue reading and devouring those books!

I took photographs of the boys wearing their Daddy's tie and trying on his shoes.

I really love this series.

I believe this is the last series I have of the boys as babies.

It makes me sad that they grow up so quickly!

I cherish these photographs.

It keeps each age and stage fresh in my mind.

Soccer 2013

This year we tried out soccer for the first time.

5 year olds are some pretty funny soccer players.

Lots of scurrying around in a pack and need for water breaks.

Kenton helped to coach Griff's team.

Both Kenton and Griff enjoyed our first try at soccer!

1st day of school 2013

The first day of school was filled with so much excitement at your house.  Griff was so happy to start kindergarten.  I was bursting with joy for my big boy.  I was not sad or teary.  I was beaming with pride.  This is one of those moments that could have gone either way.  I am so happy that I chose joy.  We, as parents, pour so much into our children preparing them to go out into the big world.  Look out world here comes Griffin!  Shine bright my sweet boy!  We are so proud of this boy.  I pray that he always keeps his deep desire to learn.

Kindergarten here I come!

Roman will be attending school with Miss Deb again this year.  She does such a wonderful joy with Roman.  He is learning, growing, and socializing very well.  Roman's conversational skills are quite impressive.  Expect big things from this guy!

Cohen also started going to his sitter this morning too.  Rotten egg will have a bit of an adjustment period!

Here is everyone loaded up and ready to go in the magic van.  We had every intention of Griffin catching the bus.  We were outside waiting and watched the bus pass on by.  Oh well, I secretly enjoyed dropping off my boys on the first day of school.  Griff loves the carpool line.  He gets so much attention.  All of the teachers come over and gush over Griff and his baby brothers.  It was wonderful to see all of these smiling faces waiting to love on my little guys!

I filled out a "favorite things" sheet for Roman and Griffin.  I loved their answers.  So unique to each of their personalities.  I love to see their little minds in action!

Superhero living behind the scenes

Without revealing too much information I will give you a behind the scenes look at superhero living. 

*Identities are anonymous as to protect "superhero-ness"

Even superheroes need to eat yo.

Here is a typical hero meal.

Milk, fruit, and chicken nuggets.

A tape measure is on hand in case superhero needs to turn Macyver. 

 Superhero speed drills.

It takes work to be faster than a speeding bullet. 

Kids don't try this at home.

These are skilled professionals.

This is why I am a girly girl in a superhero world.

Play Ball!

Griff played t-ball for the first time this year.

This was our first shot at an organized team sport.

I am not really sure what my expectations were before starting the season.

What I can tell you at is the season was a total success.

Griff did a great job.

He went to games and practice, he participated, he contributed to the success of his team, he learned about team work, and he learned about good sportsman ship.  

We are so proud of our guy and the first of his many sporting accomplishments.

Nona and Mr. Jason's Wedding

On Christmas Eve Nona and Mr. Jason asked Griffin to be the ring bearer in their wedding.  He had no idea what the duty entailed, but he happily obliged.  

Last weekend was the wedding.  Griff was thrilled and did an awesome job!  

{and was adorable I might add!}

My favorite memories are when he walked up to the flower girl and said, 

"my name is Griffin, you look beautiful."  

My other favorite memory was when he asked his Nona if she would like to dance.

Griffin PreK-4

Dear Griffin,

We are so VERY proud of you.  You had an amazing year in PreK-4.  I can not even begin to tell you how much you have grown over the course of this year.  Your level of maturity, confidence, and ability has grown leaps and bounds and exceeded our wildest dreams.  Go Griffin GO!

You are a great student.  You never complained a single day to go to school.  You loved your teachers and your classmates.  You are so smart.  You tested at the end of 1st grade for your reading.  Can you say WOW?!?  One day you picked up a book and just started reading.  I pray that you always keep this deep desire to learn.

While your academic strides are impressive I am most impressed with your heart.  You love and respect people.  You are so kind and your heart is beautiful.

We are so proud of you sweet boy and look forward to a fun filled summer with you.  You will be attending a summer reading camp and will be able to catch up with some of your classmates.  Other than that our summer will be spent enjoying fun, family, and friends!  You are a good boy and will do great things in this world...
