Pumpkin Patch #2

I just love this time of year.
There are so many fun family activities every weekend.
Yesterday morning we loaded up the car with a couple of places in mind.

I am not going to lie.  A portion of my brain abandoned me on each pregnancy.
#3 just about did me in.
I am waiting patiently for a few brain cells to return.
Still waiting...

I had a list of potential places to visit.
I was totally wrong on days and times.

We totally ditched my list and googled things to do!
Thanks google for saving the day.

We headed out to a pumpkin patch that we have never visited before.
It was about 30 minutes from home.
Life.
Always an adventure...

This pumpkin patch was pretty cool.
We loaded up on a large trailer pulled by a tractor.
We were taken out to a field to "pick" our pumpkins.

So we didn't actually "pick" our pumpkin from the vine.
I guess this is close enough!
We wrote our names on our pumpkins
and loaded them in the wagon.

Once back the pumpkins were unloaded into drums of water
for a quick "bath."
Once our pumpkins were located in the water they were taken
out and given a quick scrub.
Monkey boys!
Thanks for a fun morning!

Griff's 1st class trip

This week I was able to go with Griff on his class field trip.  This is one of those things that I have been waiting my entire life a very long time to do. Leading up to the field trip I honestly don't know who was more excited!

Not only was I able to go on the field trip I was also able to observe him for the first time in his class room setting.  I walked into the room and watched from the back.  He had no idea I was there.  He participated and sat obediently in his place.  He was the class "leader" that day.  He was really excited about this and told me about the day before.  His teacher, Ms. L,  called him to the front and he was able to use the pointer and go over the daily activities.  I honestly fought back a tear or two.  He was so proud of his responsibility for the day.  The look of pride was beaming from his face.  He acted with a level of maturity that I have never witnessed before.  I am so happy that I was there to witness him in this leadership position.  He did great and I could not be prouder of my big boy!  He then walked over to the star on the floor and led the class to the the bus.  Let the fun begin!

He boarded the bus and I was a little nervous that he would have flash backs of our only other bus experience. (tumble bus )  I am happy to report that he was all smiles.  I grabbed a seat next to my favorite 4 year old and we rolled out. The smile on his face was too much for me to handle.

He could not stop smiling.
Therefore I could not stop smiling.
I love this boy so very much...
Once we reached the pumpkin patch Griffin, the line leader, led us off the bus.  First we learned a little about pumpkins and how they grow.  Side note* I am so impressed with these kids.  These children are only 4 years old and were very well behaved.  I must also say that I am even more impressed with the teachers.  Ms. L and her assistant Ms. Lu do a fabulous job with these kiddos.  Ms. L is very consistent and even keeled with her students.  Seriously, she maintained total control of twenty 4 year olds and never once raised her voice.  Both of these teachers truly have a gift...

The students lined up against the fence while
receiving their lesson on pumpkins.
Griff and a few of his classmates.
Fun times at the pumpkin patch.

My big boy even humored me and let me follow him around
and take his picture.
Class picture before we left the pumpkin patch.
Our next stop was the fire station next door to learn a little about fire safety.  The students learned a lesson on "what to do" in case of a fire.  After that they were able to shake hands with a real life fire fighter.  Cool stuff!

Next they were able to try on
a real fire jacket.

They then walked through the fire station and were able to "ooooh and aaaah" over a real life fire truck!

Next they were able to board a fire truck and give it  a look up close.

Now for the highlight of Griff's day.  They were each given a turn to spray the fire hose.  Pure bliss in the eyes of a child!

Favorite moment of the day right here!
My awesome little line leader!
Following the fire station we walked over to Papa John's for a tour of the facility and some yummy pizza for lunch!

During the tour the pizza maker started throwing the pizza dough in the air.  I sure hope Griff doesn't expect the same pizza tossing skill at home. :)

After a fun filled morning we loaded the bus and headed back to school.  Griff was sitting in the front seat with a friend.  When he saw me he said, "Mommy I will sit with my friend Eli."  Nothing would please me more!  I am so proud of my big boy.  I just love to watch him grow and mature before my very eyes...

Cohen Jacob 4 months old

Dear Cohen,

In the blink of an eye here we are again.  I can't believe that you are already 4 months old.  The growth and changes that you have experienced in only 4 short months of life amazes me.  4 months ago we welcomed you into this world.  Wow.  You went from a fragile newborn to a giggling infant way too quickly.  I will never be able to express in words the joy that you have added to all of our lives.

You are no longer easily contained.  You are rolling all over the place.  If we put you in your bed facing one way chances are we will find you in a totally different direction when we return.  You LOVE tummy time.  Tummy time makes you very happy.  You are actually trying to crawl.  I am afraid that I have not been very encouraging in your attempts.  Slow down little guy.  My heart can't take the speed that you are growing and developing.  Can't you please stay my baby a little bit longer?  Pretty please?

You are still a  great sleeper.  You not only sleep through the night, but you also rock it at nap times.  For this I am oh so very grateful!  Keep up the good work!

I have a feeling that you are about to be assaulted by your first round of teeth.  You are drooling like an open faucet and are a bit fussier than normal.  I stare at your beautiful gummy smile every single day.  I want to burn in my brain the way that you look at this very moment.  I find no greater pleasure than when you look up at me with your beautiful baby blues and flash me the biggest gummiest smile that I have ever seen.  Every time this moment occurs I realize that all is good in my little piece of this world.

My most favorite moment of this past month was when I showed you yourself in the mirror for the first time.  It was such a funny moment.  You could not stop laughing at yourself in the mirror.  We all had tears in our eyes enjoying your laughter.  I can not get enough of these moments in my life.  It was a moment of pure joy for all of us.

You are a content baby and are okay with the fast pace that is the speed of our crazy lives.  You just as easily nap in your bed at home as you do on the go.  I pray that you continue to keep this easy going nature.  Lord knows we have enough strong wills in this house already!  I love your little personality and love to watch you shine.  You are a good boy and will do great things in this world...

 Stat update:
6/13/12 birth weight- 9.2
7/12/12 1 month- 12.2
8/11/12 2 months- 14.8
9/14/12 3 months- 17
10/14/12 4 months- 18. 4

You have now doubled your birth weight.  You have certainly filled out your scrawny chicken legs and are quite the chunky little monkey.  The other day I was holding you.  Your belly was hanging over your diaper and I found some lint in one of the rolls in your leg.  Awesome.  You and I make quite the team when it comes to keeping you well fed!

Sweet Co-Co, keep growing big and strong.  Keep flashing that gummy smile and the world is yours!  I love you so very much and I'm so blessed to call you mine.

All my love,
Mommy
