From freebird to father of 2 in 6 years!

To My Husband,

"The day we met will always hold a place in my heart.

The day we married will forever be cherished as we joined our hands, hearts and lives together in love.

And, the days our children were born mean more to me than words can say.

You are the love of my life...
a great husband...
and a wonderful father, too!"

This is how it all began. Just the two of us with nothing but lots of love and big dreams.

Mamarazzi?

My children were both with a flash in their face. What can I say Kenton and I both really like pictures and want to have memories of our children every step of the way! This morning I was feeling "inspired" and took a few pictures of my little Romeo.

Time where do you go?

This double chin is a lot of work for both Roman and Mommy

Griff wants a mo-hawk just like Roman!

Nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby.

Smile for Momma!

Look at BABY Griffin!

Adding one little 11 lb person to the mix sure changes things up! I have no idea what I have been doing other than wiping hineys, changing diapers, feeding every 2-4 hours, and holding my little guy. I think of updating the blog often, but within a few seconds I am off to something else. It is now going on 7 weeks and I have not slept more than 4 consecutive hours at a time. My creative juices are not exactly flowing over right now.

Notable changes over the past few weeks. Roman started smiling at week 5. I noticed him smile, but contributed it to gas. My Aunt came over to spend the afternoon with Roman so I could get out for a bit. When I returned home she asked if I noticed that Roman was smiling. I guess it wasn't gas and he was truly happy to see me and he has been smiling ever since. He gives the biggest and best gummy smiles. It gets me every time!

I have been having anxiety about returning to work full time since Roman was born. As luck or answered prayers would have it, I was offered a part time job with another company from my previous manager. I turned in my 2 weeks notice today. I am very excited about working a few days a week and having the rest of my time with my boys. They will only be little for such a short period of time and I don't want to miss a thing!

Here are a few random pictures from this past week.

Party Animal

The birthday family

Happy birthday Noah!

Make a wish Brea!

Gotta love'em! When I walked in they were sword fighting on the bean bags!

Roman enjoying the party too!

Griff and the girls

Our social calendar was filled with 3 birthday parties last Saturday thanks to Griffin! What would we do without our little social butterfly.

The first party of the day was for 2 year old Joshua in the neighborhood. The majority of the kids at the party were 2 and under. They had a bouncer/water slide in the back yard. Griff was a little hesitant at first to get wet, but it did not take him long to join in on the action. Kenton was amazed at how brave our little guy was. He was a little stunned the first time he went under, but he shook it off and kept on playing!

The second party was for 3 year old Janelle. Griff was the STUD of the party considering that he was the only boy. He didn't seem to mind that it was a tea party and he bounced his heart out in the Barbie princess bounce house! I did bring his gift wrapped in camouflage wrapping paper because I thought that was a pretty "manly" thing to do!

The third party of the day was for 3 year old twins Brea and Noah. We had to head across the lake for the party. As were were driving over the Causeway the skies opened up. The weather was terrible. Luckily later in the afternoon the weather was just right for a party. They had a kiddie pool and big water slide for the kids. Griff didn't participate in the water festivities because Kenton just knew that he would be all over the BIG slide. Instead he played his heart out in Brea and Noah's play room. He loves to play with their toys and makes sure to take every single one of them out! (sorry Jenni) I am pretty sure he uncovers many toys in there that have not seen the light of day in ages. Yes, he digs THAT deep!

Happy birthday to all of our friends who celebrated last weekend. We really enjoyed celebrating with you!

P.S. It sure is hard to take lots of pictures with a 5 week old and a 2 year old running around.

Reasons that I smile

Here is a list of the latest things that make my day:

*Roman smiled at me. He smiled twice yesterday. I was not sure if it was a true smile or just gas. He did it again several times today with my Aunt as a witness. I choose to believe that he smiled at his Momma.

*Anytime Roman is fussy in is bouncy seat Griff swoops in to save the day. He tries to plug Roman's cries with a pacifier and turns on the music/vibration in his chair.

*We have a new pronunciation for Wiggles. Goodbye "we-ooooos" and hello "giggles."

*Griffin likes to stock his kitchen from my kitchen. Throughout the day he comes into my kitchen and finds things that he needs. For example he comes pick out spices, pots, baking pans, cookie roller, etc. If there is something that I can't find I simply take a quick inventory of his kitchen and can usually find my stuff.

*I was ASSAULTED by poop twice today. The first attack came from Roman at the crack of dawn. I was half asleep doing a diaper change when out no where poop violated me. It shot at me like it would have come out of a cannon. I have never in my life gotten out of bed so quickly and into the shower. Not long after the Roman "incident" Griffin got me. I was nursing Roman when I couldn't help but notice and frightened look on Griffin's face. I heard his diaper come down and his hands came up with poop. He stood there lip quivering because he doesn't like to be dirty. I quickly put Roman down and got Griff into the tub. I had 2 showers before the 8'oclock hour. Why in the world would I include these poop assaults in things that make me smile? Sometimes you must smile in order not to cry.

*Roman's hair~ 5 weeks old and it is still really dark and spiky.

*It melts my heart every time I hear Griff say "hi Momma." He says it with the sweetest voice and with the kindest spirit.

*Anytime Griffin kisses Roman he makes sure to include the "muah" sound. Where did he get this from?!?

*Griffin has a new obsession with the computer (tutor). He likes to watch Barney, Elmo, and the Giggles while sitting at the counter like a big boy. I love to watch him sing and dance along with all of his favorite tunes. Anytime I put on Jack and Jill he cracks up. He thinks that it hysterical that "Jack fell down and Jill came tumbling after."
