6 year anniversary

This weekend Kenton and I headed downtown to spend a couple of nights
to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary.

How in the word did we go from this...

To this in 6 short years?
In 6 years we have gone from just the 2 of us to 2.75 kids.
In the blink of an eye...

So what did we do during our weekend of just the 2 of us?
Well...
We enjoyed this beautiful view from our hotel room.

On the first night we celebrated over a wonderful dinner at Mr. John's Steakhouse.
Lucky for the hubs I am a pretty cheap date right now.
Keep the water coming and I share his meal with him.
At 7 months pregnant I don't have much room to breathe much less eat anymore!

Here we are after our waiter was kind enough to surprise us with a delicious dessert.

We headed back towards the hotel and stopped into Mannings.
Satch wants to know how do we get a row of recliners
and a tv the size of the wall inside our keeping room?
I was only half listening as I kicked back with my feet up in the recliner next to him.
Who in the heck cares if basketball is on the tv?
Clearly a Lazy-Boy is the key to my heart right now.

With 2 early birds at the house we don't sleep in ever much.
It was kind of nice just to hang out in a hotel bed with fluffy white sheets.
Once again basketball was on the tv.
You would think that I am a fan.  :)

On Friday evening we headed over to the House of Blues for Chase McCloud's cd release party.
If you don't know who he is check him out.
Very talented musician and great guy!

Before the show we met up with another couple for dinner at the Foundation Room.
Great food and wonderful company.
Once we made it into the Parish room we met up with other friends for a fun night!

To mark the spot of our nuptials we had to seal the deal with another kiss.
6 years later....
I still do!

Before heading out we stopped into Stanley's for our favorite breakfast
of poached eggs and boudin po boy topped with hollandaise.
Yeah you rite...

The afternoon was so lovely that we took a quite stroll down Freret Street for the street market.
This is our old hood and we stop in whenever we get a chance.

6 year later.
I love this man more than the day that I married him.
He has given me 2.75 kids and a life richer than I ever dreamed of.
I love the beautiful life that we have created together.
Cheers to spending the rest of my forever with you...

"I do" today, tomorrow, forever... 5 year anniversary

5 years ago today is a day that I will remember for the rest of my life.  It was the "best day" in a series of best days to follow that have changed my life forever.  On April 8, 2006 I said I do to my Prince Charming.
The Blushing Bride

The dashingly handsome groom.

The day was PERFECT.  It was the most beautiful day imaginable.  The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and the angels were singing!  We were married outside in the French Quarter 8 months after being devastated by Hurricane Katrina.  I remember tearing up as my Dad was about to walk me to hand me off to my Groom.  Kenton had the BIGGEST smile that I have ever seen on his face.  Yes, it was THAT big.  (you can see it in the picture)
The perfect spot to say, "I do."
Followed by the kiss.
We were carried off by a carriage ride
to dance the night away and celebrate with our closest family and friends.
We had the most wonderful evening with dancing and savoring the moment.
Oh yeah, we even did a little 'stachin!
Even though our wedding was "just a day" it was a beautiful start to the life that we have created together.

Life is constantly changing, but the changes over the past 5 years have been monumental!  We went from the city to the suburbs and are toting around 2 beautiful boys!

A few months ago just the two of us were having dinner at our favorite sushi spot.  We used to have dinner at this very spot every Friday night.  5 years later we are living the dreams that we used to imagine.  Such an awesome feeling!  Our life is crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Happy Anniversary Lovey..... cheers to our "forever."

All my love,
Ayia

Love and Marriage

Yesterday Kenton and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. We have experienced so many life changes in 4 short years. We now have 1.95 kids and have moved to the suburbs. Actually at one point we even discussed a mini-van, but have yet to follow through with the threat. I am still as in love with Kenton as the day that we married. I am so blessed to be married to such a good and kind man. Not only is Kenton a wonderful husband, but he is also a terrific father. Griffin will back me on this statement! I love the life that we have created together. Here is to a lifetime more anniversaries with you....

All my love,
Ayia
