Big boy camping trip...

MiMi and Pop invited the big boys to go on a camping trip.
Needless to say Griff and Roman were a tad excited to go!
Mommy and Daddy may have been even more excited for them to go.

On Wednesday evening I met MiMi and Pop to deliver our precious cargo.
The boys were waiting outside of the van with their stuff on the ground.
I may have pulled out of the parking lot on 2 wheels.
Hope I didn't appear a little too eager to get rid of them drop them off for a few days.

The boys had a ball!
MiMi and Pop also enjoyed their time with our dynamic duo.
They entertained them from sun up to sun down for days.
There were tons of activities such as:
horseback riding, Easter egg hunts, evening dances, line dancing classes, bobbing for apples, sack races, a hay ride and an Easter parade.

A couple days in I was wondering if they would ever want to return home.

As they say absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Kenton and I missed them terribly.
The house just isn't the same without them!

On Easter Sunday we drove out pick them up.
We watched as they participated in an Easter egg hunt, took bunny pictures, and greeted everyone around as if they were the "Mayors of the campground."
Every where they go they certainly leave their mark...

Waiting for MiMi and Pop to pick them up.
Boys become one with nature.
So proud of Baby Bear.  A few months ago he wouldn't go near a horse.
Look at the smile on his face.  I think he likes it now.
Childhood memories- sack races.
Guessing bobbing for apples was not is thing?
Boys with the bunny.

Standing in front of their weekend home.

Thanks Mimi and Poppa for investing so much into our boys!

While Mommy is away...

In my absence this is what goes on around the house.
Here is the "evidence" found on MiMi Kat's camera.

We sit ON the table.

We wear buckets as hats.

We are encouraged to to this by big Poppa.

We empty out the drawers.

We admire our work.

We also wear toy bins as hats.

And stack the hats toy bins high in the sky.

We hang out in the tent.

We wear funny hats and read books.

While Baby Bear keeps up his personal hygiene.

We play school.  Baby Bear is such an astute student. :)

We prepare our own meals in our outdoor kitchen.

AND we water the grass pee-pee on the fence.

It is such a good feeling to know that my boys are so taken care of while I am away.
MiMi and Pop love these boys so much.
They take wonderful care of them, love them, hug them and
SPOIL THEM ROTTEN!

Isn't that what grand parents are supposed to do?!?

G specifically requested a "pink" one.

Serving 1 "pink" sno-ball!

Look who's back!

Now Hiring Within: Job description below

Today marks the end of MiMi and Big Poppa's babysitting job. They have officially retired now for the 3rd time. (1x job, 1x Griffin, 1x Roman) In their absence we are looking for a "jack-of-all-trades" type. The willing candidate must be able to cook, clean, do yard work, drive the school bus, laundry, love babies, be a sounding board and an awesome friend. Yeah, I know it may sound like pretty big shoes to fill. A downside for many may be the pay. The money isn't great. I guess you could consider it pro bono work, but take a look at the rich rewards below:

You get the opportunity to spend quality time with Griffin and Roman. The two most amazing little boys in the entire world!!
We provide you with a wardrobe.
We can assure you that the laughs go on for days. No frowning on this job!
You will receive a lifetime of tight hugs and sweet kisses....
We provide reasonable housing for you.
You will also receive some pretty awesome meals from our very own little resident chef d cuisine!
Most importantly you will receive the unconditional love of this little guy.

AND the adoring look of this one too.....
Thank you MiMi and Big Poppa for all that you have done for us. You have blessed our lives with your love and generosity. We are forever grateful and love you big, big like the sky...

Mom-Mom Da

There are so many small everyday things that remind me of my grandmother, Mom-Mom Da. I miss her so much. I think of her often and all of the precious memories that I have of her. I just know that she would be so in love with 2 little boys...

This morning while my mom was making the potato salad I had to stop and take a picture. This is such a sweet memory for me. Mom-Mom was KNOWN for her delicious potato salad and she ALWAYS made it in a particular bowl. This is my mom following in her mother's footsteps. MiMi's potato salad is pretty close in taste and appearance to her mother's. Could it be that she watched her make it for many years? Or could it be that she also puts in a lot of love to making the recipe? Or could it be that she makes it in the same special bowl?
