Point Clear, Alabama

This past weekend we spent a few days with the Vicknair's at the Grand Resort in Point Clear, Alabama. We all had a ball~ adults and kiddos! The twins, Noah and Brea, are 9 months older than Griffin. All of the children were very well behaved, it was a joy! It was so cute to see Brea playing with "the baby". We all know that Griffin has a thing for the ladies and at one point he was so mesmerized by her that he even handed her over his paci! It was a little chilly, but we powered through. You only go on vacation a few days out of the year~ right?!? Griffin was stuck on Kenton as if they were held together by glue. He is ALL about his daddy right now. They played together in the pool all day. They even went down the big slide quite a few times. Kenton put him in a little raft/boat and Griffin was such a show off. He was giggling and waving to everyone like a rock star. The grounds of the resort were beautiful. Our last morning there we took Griffin bike riding through the resort and down the boardwalk. The town of Point Clear is gorgeous. We admired all of summer homes with huge oak trees and huge back porches along the bay. A good time was had by all!

14 month update

Another month has already gone by. Where has the time gone?!? Griffin had a great month. Mommy on the other hand is having a hard time letting go of her baby. Officially saying good-bye to the bottle and phasing out the pacifier is tougher on me than Griffin. These are all symbols that is he no longer a baby. I so enjoy watching him grow and learn new things everyday. It is such an amazing feeling when I realize that I have actually taught someone something today. When the pacifier is out of his mouth he really has a lot to say. He actually told me his version of a joke this past week. He babbled a sentence to me and started laughing. I joined in on the laughter with him. He then repeated his original sentence and laughed again.? Regardless if I got the punch line or not the joke was pretty funny to me too. Griffin keeps us busy and on our toes 24/7. He is still climbing and digging like it is his full time job. A few broken bowls, favorite dishes, and a printer later we are all still in one piece! He is really coming into his own little personality. Such a little boy with such a beautiful spirit. Every moment spent with him is a blessing.

Attached are pictures that we took today at the Richoux family mothers day b-b-q. Griffin joined in on the slip n slide with some of his cousins. I will also throw in a picture of Griffin and I from mother's day last year. To look at the pictures and realize how far we have come in just one year.

Monkey boy

Sundays are such a special day. It is a day that we always look forward to. We start out with a motivating Church service to set a positive tone to the upcoming week. Afterwards we try to go out and explore the city. Today we went to the zoo for a few hours. I believe that we will really enjoy our annual membership. We don't feel the pressure to "get our moneys" worth with each trip. We can go as much as want for as long as we want. With a toddler this is very valuable! Today we went to the sea lion exhibit and watched the show. This along with 3 packs of cookies held Griffin's attention for a bit. It wasn't exactly the sea lions that he enjoyed it was the audience clapping that really got him! We also hung out in the monkey part of the zoo today. We do not call Griffin "monkey boy" for nothing. He truly is our little monkey~ constantly climbing and hanging from the drawers in the house. Too cute.... We also discovered Griffin's favorite part of the zoo. The jungle gym! He loves to climb up the equipment and crawl through with NO FEAR! I really enjoyed watching Griffin and his Daddy spend such precious time together.

Love, laughter, and togetherness~ 3 years later

Life at this point somewhat revolves around Griffin. Anyone with a toddler will understand this and probably agree! Kenton and I do not get out that much just the two of us anymore. We are working on this and I believe we have actually found a babysitter other than my parents! We know the importance of a strong and healthy relationship and the ways that we ALL benefit from this. On April 8 we celebrated our 3rd anniversary~ just the two of us! We had a fabulous lunch at Commander's Palace. The lunch special is one of those "best kept secrets" in the city. We strolled around the French quarter after lunch and enjoyed the afternoon. We went out to the spot where we were married and talked about how much our lives have changed since then. Life is constantly changing, but to go from the single life to figuring out how to live as a couple and adding in a child is pretty radical! With all of that said we are blessed beyond belief and could not ask for more!
