Party all the time!

Griff and Ryan~ 1 of the birthday boys!

Street car party

King Legend

Very cute favors~ mini king cakes!

Today Griffin had 2 more birthday parties! The first party of the day was to celebrate "King" Legend's 3rd birthday. Legend's party had a Mardi Gras theme and was on the uptown streetcar. It was such a fun idea. Kenton has been really wanting to take Griff for a ride on the street car and this was the perfect way to do it! We rode the streetcar in style! We met at the station and boarded the party car! We went all the way down to Canal Street and back. The entire party took place while in motion. Sandwich/snack bags, mini king cakes for the kids, sang happy birthday, blew out candles, ate cake and opened gifts on the run. I was a little nervous about getting Griff to actually sit still for an extended period of time and we had no way out! In the back of my mind I always think of an escape route or plan b if you will. I thought if he is really acting up we can always get off and hail a cab back to the station, but we didn't have a car seat. Luckily none of this was necessary. Griff really enjoyed the ride. He was so excited when we left the station. The smile on his face went from ear to ear! Thanks Legend for including us on your special day.

Immediately after we got off the street car we headed straight to Ryan and Paul's 2nd birthday party. Kenton was really feeling under the weather so en-route we swapped out Daddy for MiMi. We were running a little late so we missed the birthday song, but were still in time to enjoy the party! Griff played with his friends outside for a little bit on the bounce house, but the star of the show for Griff was their new play kitchen. He cooked us up all kinds of goodies in the kitchen.

I am so proud of my baby. Griff really enjoyed both parties and only had a 30 minute nap all day! We have already given him a bath and he is eating dinner. I would have to imagine bed-time will also be in the very near future!

Reasons that I smile

Precious moments spent with my babies...

Here are just a few more things that brighten my day:

Tight hugs- Griff gives the best hugs. I love to get him out of bed in the morning because he hugs my neck so tight. Another time that I also cherish is when his Daddy picks him up from school and runs into the house at full speed to hug my neck. There is nothing like it!

Musical abilities- Griff loves to sing along to the Wiggles. It is so much fun to sing along with him. Even though the words are way off you totally know what he is saying. He keeps harmony with the melody of the song. I first noticed this when we would clean up in the evening. He would sing along his rendition to the tune of the music. He must have picked this one up from school. A few of his favorites are La Cucaracha and Toot toot chugga chugga big red car.

Brotherly love- Griff loves his big brother Al. He insists on feeding Al breakfast (and several other random meals a day) after he finishes eating. As soon as he gets out of his chair you can hear him filling a cup of food to pour for his brother. We have started to put Al in the hall behind the baby gate when we eat dinner. As soon as we finish Griff gets out of his chair and "paroles" his big bro!

Pack Rat- The Griff has become quite the pack rat. He isn't attached to one thing in particular, but has his hands full at all times. It is quite funny to watch him eat. You can see him trying to figure out if he really needs to put down the good in order to grab a bite. Here is a list of things that you may find in his arms at any given time ALL at the same time- juice cup, snack container, car, remote control, and my high heel. No rhyme or reason just what he finds at any particular moment.

Church- We recently started attending a new church. Every Sunday when we drop him off at the nursery he runs off before we can even say good-bye. He actually runs off before we are able to hand off his bag or put on his ID sticker. It must be a good sign that he is that eager to run off and learn about Jesus and play with others.

Sweet voice- Griff has the sweetest little voice. I NEVER tire of listening to him babble on and on. I am sure soon enough his words may not be so "sweet" so I am taking advantage of his sweetness as long as I can!

Dance moves- I love when the beat catches him and he just has to dance! He dances along to many of the Wiggles songs and actually knows the moves. It is so funny to peek in on him while he is alone in his playroom and he is dancing his little heart out. Oh to be a child again!

Who Dat!

My 2 Favorite Who Dats on our way to church.

Gooooo SAINTS~ yeah!!

Victory lap

Accessorizing with T.P.

The boy loves to blow his nose.

Win-win situation! Wiggles on the computer and the Saints on the TV.

Wow~ what a game! After so many years of watching the ups and downs of the Saints I woke up this morning wondering if it was all a dream. The Saints are going to the Super bowl!! We watched the game at home last night with my Mom and Dad. Griff played between his playroom and the living room. Every time he heard us cheering he would run into the living room to celebrate clapping with his fists pumping! I love that he enjoys a good time! Hummmm, who could that boy take after? At one point he ran out in celebration with streamers of toilet paper. Upon further investigation we realized that he found a roll of toilet paper and was "rolling" his room. That boy makes us all smile! During the day when MiMi was trying to put him down for a nap he ran out of saying "feetball?" Down here in the south we start'em young..... Who Dat!

Princesses and Cowboys

Fun with balloons!

Cake with MiMi~ yummy!

Griff and the birthday girl.

Not a chance of getting this cowboy on the horse!

No surprise~ look who is in the drivers seat.

January seems to be a month of birthday celebrations! This weekend we kicked it off on Saturday with a Princess dinner party for Natalie and today we headed down the bayou for Max's 3rd Cowboy birthday party! Both parties were fun for all. Griff was not his typical life of the party self. At both of the parties he acted...well... 2. At the princess party he was into everything. We just had to keep a constant eye on him to make sure he didn't get into too much trouble. Today the main factor that I believe contributed to his behavior was NO NAP! Geesh, a nap really makes all the difference in the world. We had to make a quick exit before he melted into a total pumpkin. This weekend was just a warm up of the many birthday celebrations that are about to follow!

22 month update

Handsome little man.

My favorite pic of the month.

Snackin' over the top style.

Griff with his game face on.

Big boy~ no longer wants to eat breakfast in his highchair, but Mommy is not ready to let that go quite yet.

I know, I know, I'm late.... What can I say I am now 6+ months pregnant and trying to make it day by day! In my defense I have been trying to take fun pictures, but the weather has been a bit chilly and just too cold to do a whole lot of anything. To make good on my promise better late than never.

This month once again was filled with many changes for the entire family. I started work full time on January 4th. We have been easing Griff into day care 5 days a week. Actually he has not gone more than 3, but it is a start. Griff is a little chatter box. His words are becoming more clear to us, but until we can figure it out he really has a lot to say! He is still a singing and dancing machine. Kind of sad, but as soon as he gets out of bed in the a.m. the first words out of his mouth are "We-Go!" (Wiggles) He still doesn't walk it is more of a run and he still is into everything. Griff is flexing his muscle of independence and wants to do things for himself. Many days he acts, well, 2, but he almost is. He is growing and changing by the day. Just out of curiosity I put him on the scale last night and he weighed in at a whopping 30 lbs! We are just trying to soak in the last few months of our "only child."

Damage Deposit?

Wiggly party featuring Griff on the Drums!

Momma, can I listen to the Peanut's heartbeat too?

Listening in on the Peanut's heartbeat.

Sweet babies.

Hey Good-lookin' What'cha got cookin?

Yummy!

Brea and Griff on the train table~ sorry...

Griff and Noah dancing

I am beginning to wonder if friends will require a damage deposit before allowing us to come over and play. Craig and Jenni were sweet enough to invite us over for dinner and a little playtime. I can not even begin to explain how much G enjoyed himself. He played in Brea and Noah's playroom the entire time. I was able to entice him out ONLY to eat a bite and then he went right back in for more fun. He was in heaven~ The Wiggles on the TV and tons of new toys to play with. I truly believe that he took out every single toy that the twins own and a few they probably didn't even realize that they have! Thank you Brea and Noah for sharing your toys and your TV!

Highlights of the night:
Griff went nuts on Noah's drum set. Both Kenton and I were pleasantly surprised at how well he played the drums. He is pretty coordinated and this held his attention for a LONG time. He also jammed on the keyboard, guitar, and saxophone.

The Griff also taught Brea and Noah a few things about climbing. By the end of the evening they were all standing on the train table.

Thanks so much for having us over~ we all had a ball. The food was delicious and the company was even better. We owe you a clean up fee!!
