The most wonderful time of the year...

Spring is in the air.... Can you feel it?  I just love this time of year for so many reasons.  Everything is beginning to burst with color after the muted tones of the winter are fading away.  Yesterday we soaked up this awesomeness at a birthday party and today we whipped our yard back into shape.  I will say with 100%  confidence that if you came over and sat under our arbor you would not be getting up any time soon.  Unless of course it was to fix yourself something refreshing with an umbrella in it.  ;)  Thanks to Satch for putting so much love into our home and yard.  Gotta love a man who takes pride in everything that he does.

My beautiful angel
Roman was thrilled spend the day outside.

G loves that brother.
The best kind of kiss, an unsolicited one.

Why? Because he CLEARLY does not get enough to eat.  ;)

My big boy acting all "3" and stuff!

Make a wish...

Cake time!

3 in the blink of an eye.

Nothing like a boy and a puddle.

All of the kiddos had spring fever too!

Climbing that "mountain."

Thanks to my boys for such a great weekend!  Looking forward to a spring-time filled with sunshine, fun, and outdoor festivals!

Photo Booth

Satch and I went to a really fun wedding on Saturday night.  Shortly after we arrived Satch disappeared for a bit.  Apparently somewhere between me and the bathroom he ran across this awesome photo booth.  Needless to say he has never passed a camera that he didn't like.  ;)  He came back with a set of pictures of himself.  We got a REALLY good laugh out of his solo shots and hit the photo booth together.  Yes.... we probably spent more time taking pictures of ourselves than most.  It was great fun!

Tomorrow...

I will be honest.  This week was not one of my finest.  It started out rough with the time change and just snow-balled from there.  Things had been going along smoothly and all of a sudden the pressures of "life" just came down.  Lack of sleep, vomiting child, sick hubby, demands of work, teething child, relentless and inconsolable cries, forgotten photography class, and on, and on, and on...

I pray that I will do a better job tomorrow than I did today.  I pray for patience and mercy when spending time with my husband and children.  They deserve the best of me everyday and not just what is left.
Roman was attached to me as my 3rd leg all week.
His cries were like a piercing siren.

Tonight I felt like my wheels were spinning, but I was not moving.  I thought I would try something new.  I got on the floor with Griff and said, "Mommy is tired and could really use a little break."  He looked at me as if he totally got it and said, "it okay Mommy."  I have no idea what happened on the bathroom floor, but it was all I needed to pull myself up again.  This is the smile that I got while putting G to bed.  Nothing like saying prayers and having him put his head on my chest and say, "I lub u Mommy."  That is why I have renewed hope for tomorrow!

Tumble Bus was a bust...

I was really excited.
I enrolled G in a tumbling class
through the parish community education program.

I was really excited for him to try it out.
He loves to dance, flip, and bounce around.
G and the Tumble Bus should go together like
Green Eggs and Ham.
Right?

We were a few minutes early so I drove by the location
and pointed out the bus.
Automatically he says,
"No Bus."

It never dawned on me that he may not like this?

I unloaded the troops and thought he would warm up to the idea
once he saw the other kids.

He really enjoyed playing around the school yard.
Actually, he was a fan of everything,
but the bus...
I got him to go on the bus,
but it was a rather painful experience for all parties involved.
He wanted me to join him and the 11 other 3-4 year olds.
(Mind you I was also holding Roman while all of the commotion was happening.)
I had to make an executive parenting decision.
He did not have to stay on the bus,
but if he got off the bus
we had to go home and he was not allowed to play on the school yard.
As soon as I had the boys buckled in
he started to cry
to go BACK on the bus...

Yes!
That works for me.
I now have a glimmer of hope that he will try out the bus next week!

Guardian Angel...

G started speech therapy at the elementary school today.
The morning did not go smoothly.
(time change=rough adjustment)

G was hysterical because Satch dropped off Roman at school
He made himself throw up.
Gotta love how he wants to stick with his brother.

Once I got to school I had a little disagreement on proof of residency.
I had to show 2 things stating our address.
I brought our mortgage and water bill.
Apparently a mortgage is not sufficient to prove residency, but a lease would do.
I was a bit confused by that one.

We walked into G's new classroom to find this note
on the dry erase board from Shelia,
Griff's guardian angel...

She did not write it to Griff.
She actually wrote it quite some time ago
and it was left on the board.
This made me smile
to know that Shelia is always with him...

Luck of the Irish?

I am Cajun
and Satch is German.

Irish???
Not so much,
but that did not stop us from
getting our green on
at the St Patty's Day parade.

We went out and waited over 2 hours.
I guess there was too much "kissing" along the way.
We bailed before the parade reached us.
:(

Oh well...
It was fun anyway!

And we wait...
It was a beautiful afternoon,
to spend with the family.
We met up with this cutie along the way!
Irish... nope.  Cute...yeap.
That smile melts me every time!
G and his girl Emma sharing chips. Awww.....
Thanks Emma for sharing your snacks with us.
PS~ Cristina is awesome at a parade.  She comes prepared like a Girl Scout.
Me... not so much!

Hey Lady... Get me out of here!

I am not one to push my children to the next stage ahead of time.
The world is fast enough,
I believe in letting them "BE" their age.
Until now...

Ro-Ro was D-O-N-E with his infant seat.
I can't say that I blame him.
The thought of riding in the car backwards makes me ill.

Here he is yesterday in his infant seat
climbing over the front.
I believe he stated his case.
Loud.And.Clear.

Here he is today
riding in the car facing the front,
for the first time.

It was adorable.
He was giggling as we drove down the street.
He was taking in the world from the backseat.
Such a cute little back seat driver.

Little does he know that he will be in the car seat facing the front for a very long time... ;)
