Declined!

Yesterday somewhere between returning a shirt and buying 6 sheets of scrapbook paper I was unknowingly scammed.  Hear me when I say, totally clueless.  It wasn't until about 7:00 last night when I received a phone call from our bank fraud protection agency that I was informed of the situation.

Funny thing, I was skeptical of the fraud protection call.  She identified herself and told me of a potential fraudulent situation with my bank card.  She went through a few legitimate charges.  She then mentioned a charge to TJ Maxx. When she said a suspicious charge was declined for $300 I knew something was up.  Houston we have a problem~ my typical charges are more in the $5-$10 range!  Not to mention the card was in my possession the entire time.

I was straining my brain to recall the day.  It went like this.  I ran into Michael's and bought 6 sheets of paper for party invitations.  I then returned a shirt to Marshalls and purchased an ipod accessory.  My phone rang and I took the call.  I typically don't talk and shop, but it was an important call regarding G and a speech evaluation.  I talked and walked through TJ Maxx.  I didn't purchase anything in the store.

Today I had to call the bank and go through the rig-a-marole of "stolen" card paperwork.  I am still unsure of exactly what happened.  I have never walked up to a register with items and when asked for payment said, "charge it to 111-222-3333."  I know that times are changing, but last time I checked you still have to present a card to complete a transaction.  My best guess is someone in one of the first two stores had a friend in the third.  Employee in one store called friend/employee in second store and manually entered a charge.  Sounds like an inside job between employees, but your guess is as good as mine?

When this sort of thing happens you go through a range of emotions.  I feel violated, upset, confused, but most of all sad.  I am sad that someone with such a "creative" mind is letting it go to waste.

A Mother's Love...

 Dear Roman,

As I was nursing you this morning I wanted to burn into my brain the images that I have adored over the past 9 months.  I was in "our spot" thinking back over the countless hours that we have shared in that very position.  You melt me every time that you look up at me with your big blue eyes and your smile finishes the job.  Our bond is very strong and I know that it was strengthened by this special time that we share.  It pleases me to say that we are a good team.  You have been a joy and our hard work shows.  I am often stopped by strangers to admire the "healthy baby."

I don't think back and remember the lack of sleep that comes with round the clock feedings.  I think back on this experience with precious memories.  I am so happy that I was able and you were willing to accept this gift from Mommy...
I never tire of that "milk drunk" look.
You are laid out and oh so comfy in your favorite position.

Twirling your hair in your soothing way...

Sweet baby, we worked so hard for those chubby toes...
All my love,
Mommy

Just what the Dr ordered

Just what the Dr ordered.
A healthy dose of vitamin D.

Satch worked late so I took the boys out for a ride in the wagon.
It felt good to enjoy a sunshiny breeze.
Mr Sun... how we have missed you!

The overall landscape is still a dreary brown.
It was such a pleasant surprise to happen upon this beautiful pink "pop" of color.

Spring.... see you soon!

2.14.11... was a good day

Here are the reasons why 2.14.11 was a good day

Griffin was so excited to give his home-made Valentine Day card to his Daddy.  You can see it on his face.  He carried the card around with him all morning and brought it so school to show all of his friends.

After we celebrated the morning with cards and a few rounds of hugs and kisses we had a special request from The Griff.  "Let's ance!"  (Let's Dance!)  We all thought it sounded like a good idea.  With Momma as the human beat box we had an impromptu dance party in the kitchen.

I picked up Griff and Roman this afternoon with a surprise guest~ MiMi Kat.  Griffin and his classmates had a party outside.  Ahhhhh...... the sunshine sure does something to lift your spirits!  How adorable is Postman Griffin?!?  All of the kids had postman hats to hand out cards and goodies to one another.

Nothing like a lawn party on a beautiful day!

After giving his round of farewell I'll see you tomorrow hugs. We headed home...

for MORE goodies from MiMi and Poppa!

Don't you worry, Roman was in on the action too!

Our next stop of the evening was a party that involved a whole lot of this! (no worries~ the only sugar that I received today was lots of very sweet kisses!)   An old friend of mine was kind enough to include us in her annual Valentine's day family party.  It was great to see many old and familiar faces...

Roman and Pop enjoying the party.

Griff handed out Valentine's to his friends at the party.  Lots of boys and 1 lucky lady!  He did manage to find the only girl to give her a tight hug!  ;)

Thanks to my family for making 2.14.11 such a wonderful day!

It's good to be queen...

Imagine this....
It is Sunday morning and eerily quiet.

You enjoy the extra few minutes of sleep.

You open your eyes
to 3 handsome men with big smiles
serving you breakfast in bed.

It is good to be queen.

Drivers Education

Big Poppa and MiMi gave the boys a Jeep for Christmas.  Today was the first day that they were able to take it out for a test drive.

After about 5 minutes of Daddy instructed drivers education they took took it out on the open road.  Needless to say we had many belly laughs.  We had both of them buckled in and said a quick prayer.  All I can say is Roman watch your neck and everyone else watch your toes...

Two boys cruising top down in the Jeep

It's okay to open your eyes Ro.

Riding off into the sunset.

How can you not smile?

Big brother feels the need for speed.  VVVRRROOOMMMMM.......

It won't be long before little brother takes over the wheel.
He is taking close notes of everything!!

Enough practice~ we gave the boys a couple of bucks and said not to stay out too late.

Newest addition to our fleet...

Tap your toe or check your pulse...

I don't know what it is about a brass band.  There is something about a horn section that just gets me every time!  Nothing like music with a soul that you feel in your bones...

The other day I was grocery shopping alone at "da club" or Wal-Mart.  All of you mothers out there with a couple of kids know exactly what I am talking about.  A trip ALONE to Wal-Mart is sometimes just as exciting as going out to the club back in another lifetime.  Anyway, a Mardi Gras song was playing over the speakers.  I just couldn't help it.  Next thing I know I am jamming down the isle while pushing my buggy.  It is typical of me to sing and dance in the store, but I use my kids as my cover.  This time I was flying solo and just didn't seem to care.  I received several smiles and a "yeah, you rite!"

Proud to call it home...
