The Grand (1)

Last month we loaded up and headed to one of our favorite family vacation spots.  The Grand Resort in Point Clear, Alabama.  We love this location for several reasons.  It is about a 4 hour drive which is about as far as we should go by car with littles.  It is also a lovely resort with lots of fun things to do.  We can arrive, park the car, and never leave our entire stay.  Very nice and easy when traveling with small kids.  (this year we did leave a few times to head to a second location with a pool)  I took so many pictures it is hard for me to even know where to begin.

Day 1 was rough on all of us.  Anxiety was high as we were all figuring out what to do when out of our regular routine.  At one point I asked Kenton if this was supposed to be fun. (side note- a friend who also has 3 small children said her husband does not refer to it as a vacation but rather a trip. I tend to agree with his choice of words)  Day 2 was much better.  By day 3 we were having fun and extended our stay an extra day.  Day 4- do we really have to go home?

Our vacation was filled with us making memories as a family.  The boys loved playing in our room, swimming at the awesome pool, running down the hallways, jumping on the beds, building sand castles at the beach, and living life as only a child knows how to... in the moment.

Running down the hall.
Our room was like a life sized doll house.
This is our first time staying in the main building and
will request it each and every time we return.
Griff wrote a note to MiMi that said,
"MiMi we gone."

Griff setting up "the guys."
Our protectors of paradise.
Our days were filled with sunshine and swimming.
Along with sweet and salty dreams...
We enjoyed beautiful sunsets as a family.
And fishing off of the pier.
Griff caught a "fish" and was so excited.
I didn't have the heart to tell him that it was actually his bait.
The boys enjoyed a little golf.
Griff reported back to me that
"Daddy isn't very dood (good) at golf."
Enjoying a lazy morning of cartoons.
"O Toodles..."
And lots of brotherly "love."
Sweet Cohen has no idea that danger is lurking over his shoulder.
The big boys really enjoyed pillow diving.
As we all enjoyed our few days in paradise.
We were able to slow down and marvel in all of
God's beauty.
Boys enjoying making sand castles at the beach.
Good-bye Point Clear.
Hope to see you again soon...
Loaded up to head back home.
Thanks for the memories...
